The Adventures of Rooting "For Dummies"

Hello and thanks for checking out this week's podcast entitled "The Adventures of Rooting "For Dummies"".

This week, I talk about the struggles I have facing possible homelessness while being denied access to a government program (specifically the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development).  I learned from the Homeless Coordinator in my county (Ms. Suzie Tolmie (615‐252‐8574) of the Metropolitan Housing Development Agency) that I needed to go through various social service agencies to access the grant funds allocated for the program, and it was through those agencies that I learned that I wouldn't qualify for the program, because though "unemployment" is theoretically temporary, it pragmatically is not for their purposes since there's "no end is sight".  This sucks, and I'll be doing what I can moving forward to share my dissatisfaction with this program, because as surely as it's happened to me, it's happening to plenty of other families throughout the country!  (Very similar to the plight of the Unemployed 99ers being ignored by Congress from last week's episode).

The struggles of continually pressing on despite these ostacles are lessened somewhat through this week's triumph.  In this episode, I talk about the love I have for the "For Dummies" Book Series, and how I shared my passion for them with the President with their publishing company and was asked to submit a book proposal! It's a promising opportunity, and I'm looking forward to exploring it!  With that in mind, if you could take a minute and fill out this brief survey telling me about your experience with the "For Dummies Book Series", then I would greatly appreciate it!

Also, since I mention it in the podcast, here's a snapshot of the top shelf of one of my bookcases:
